Job summary

WSP Global Inc. in the United Kingdom is seeking a Civil & Structural Resident Engineer to support the Energy Civil & Structural team with site visits, inspections and reporting across HV substations.

You will develop risk assessments, method statements and coordinate with designers, assessors, clients, and contractors throughout the project lifecycle. The role requires a Civil/Structural engineering degree, experience in electricity infrastructure, knowledge of DH15 reports, and willingness to

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil and / or Structural engineering
• Experience in Electricity Infrastructure (ideally NG Substations)
• Familiarity with Construction sites (and, ideally, Design)
• CSCS/EUSR (or equivalent)
• NG Persons (previously National Grid BESC)
• Experience with DH15 Reports
• Experience with on-site Destructive and Non-Destructive Testing
• Willingness to travel to sites (including overnight stays if required)

Responsibilities

• Site Visits and Site Inspections on behalf of the Energy Civil & Structural team.
• Visual inspection of Civil & Structural infrastructure – primarily in HV Substations.
• Preparing Risk Assessments & Method Statements, including liaison with other disciplines and site owner (e.g.: SAP)
• Accompanying others during Site Visits – e.g.: those less familiar with site.
• Prepare detailed Site Visit Reports – including photography, descriptions, sketches, word document and excel reports.
• Provide input to Designers and DH15 assessors in the format of reporting and attending design review meetings.
• Discussions with clients, contractors, and other disciplines (e.g.: HV Plant designers)
