Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland seeks a Civil & Structural Resident Engineer to support the Energy Civil & Structural team with site visits, inspections and reporting across HV substations. You will develop risk assessments and method statements, liaise with designers and assessors, and coordinate with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary teams throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil and/or Structural engineering.
• Experience in electricity infrastructure, ideally NG substations.
• CSCS/EUSR or equivalent certification.
• NG Persons (National Grid BESC) experience is preferred.
• Willingness to travel to sites, including overnight stays.

Responsibilities

• Site visits and inspections on behalf of the Energy Civil & Structural team.
• Visual inspection of Civil & Structural infrastructure, primarily HV substations.
• Prepare risk assessments and method statements with input from other disciplines.
• accompany others during site visits and support less experienced staff.
• Prepare detailed site visit reports with photos, sketches, and data.
• Provide input to designers and DH15 assessors during design reviews.
• Engage with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary teams throughout projects.
