Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is looking for a Civil & Structural Resident Engineer to support the Energy Civil & Structural team through site visits and inspections, primarily in HV substations. This role involves detailed reporting, risk assessments, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural engineering, experience with electricity infrastructure, and a willingness to travel. Benefits include a hybrid working policy and support for health and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil and/or Structural engineering.
• Experience in electricity infrastructure, ideally NG substations.
• Familiarity with construction sites, ideally with design experience.

Responsibilities

• Site visits and inspections to assess infrastructure.
• Prepare risk assessments and method statements.
• Engage with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.

Skills

Experience in electricity infrastructure

Familiarity with construction sites

Experience with on-site destructive and non‑destructive testing

CSCS/EUSR certification

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Civil and/or Structural engineering
