Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is seeking a Civil & Structural Resident Engineer to support the Energy Civil & Structural team with site visits, inspections, and reporting for HV substations. You will develop risk assessments, method statements, and coordinate with designers, assessors, clients, and contractors throughout the project lifecycle.

The role requires collaboration across disciplines, extensive on-site work, and travel to sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil and/or Structural engineering.
• Experience with electricity infrastructure, preferably NG substations.
• Familiarity with construction sites and design processes.
• CSCS/EUSR (or equivalent) qualification.
• Willingness to travel, including overnight stays.

Responsibilities

• Site visits and inspections for the Energy Civil & Structural team.
• Visual inspection of HV substation infrastructure.
• Prepare risk assessments and method statements with other disciplines.
• Accompany colleagues during site visits.
• Prepare detailed site visit reports with photos, sketches, and Excel reports.
• Provide input to designers and assessors and attend design review meetings.
