Job summary

University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Endoscopy Flow Coordinator for our busy Endoscopy Unit. You will coordinate inpatient flow and work with clinical colleagues to ensure patients are seen promptly and efficiently, supporting nursing staff with daily coordination.

The role emphasizes clear communication, infection control awareness, and helping develop Standard Operating Policies to improve service delivery within the unit.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating inpatient flow in a clinical setting.
• Ability to communicate with ward teams and stakeholders.
• Awareness of infection control principles and processes.

Responsibilities

• Proactively manage the patient flow from arrival to departure within Endoscopy.
• Provide accurate, updated information on daily activity within Endoscopy.
• Gain awareness of infection risks and prevent spread through isolation where needed.
• Communicate effectively with the ward team and stakeholders.
• Attend departmental huddles and required meetings.
• Escalate safety concerns to the Endoscopy Nurse in Charge.
• Ensure smooth transfer of patient details for inter-hospital moves.
• Identify and escalate daily flow challenges and contribute to policy updates.
• Assist in creating and implementing Standard Operating Policies related to patient flow.
