Job summary

Riverside is seeking a Support Worker at Eden Rural Foyer, Penrith. The role is permanent, part-time (24 hours/week) with a salary of £17,940.20 per annum pro rata.

You will provide tailored support to customers, connect them with employability coaches, assist with budgeting and benefits, and help move people toward independent living. You will keep records, work as part of a team, be empathetic, resilient, and able to work a 3-week rolling rota across 7 days (9 am–8 pm).

Qualifications

• Experience of working with vulnerable people.
• Experience delivering structured support and risk management.
• Team player with a caring, empathetic nature and a resilient attitude.
• Understanding of supporting vulnerable people, including homelessness or addiction, preferred.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including lone working.

Responsibilities

• Lead on co-producing bespoke support and move-on plans with key stakeholders.
• Organise regular reviews of support and risk plans after changes.
• Engage customers to achieve agreed outcomes and develop life skills.
• Assist with day-to-day support and tenancy-related matters.
• Identify opportunities for employment, education and training and help remove barriers.
• Signpost to external support services, including food banks and community resources.
• Support customers to be tenancy ready and financially independent.
• Maintain records on digital platforms with clear, factual information.
