Job summary

REESON Education is seeking a nurturing Teaching Assistant in Barnet to support children with special educational needs in a welcoming primary setting. The role focuses on one-to-one support, early phonics and literacy development, and helping children gain confidence in a structured class environment.

The ideal candidate has experience working with ASD in EYFS or SEND contexts and can engage children through play-based activities and practical learning strategies.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with Autism (ASD) in EYFS, SEND or specialist settings.
• Knowledge of early phonics and literacy development.
• Ability to engage children through songs, stories and play-based activities.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one support with children in a mainstream primary school.
• Support early phonics and literacy activities as directed by the EYFS Lead.
• Reinforce phonics concepts and assist with transition and daily routines.
• Collaborate with EYFS Lead and fellow TAs to maintain a structured learning environment.
• Encourage communication and language development and nurture children’s confidence.
