Job summary

REESON Education is recruiting a 1-2-1 Teaching Assistant to start in October at a welcoming Barnet primary school. The role focuses on supporting a year one child with high needs in a 1-2-1 capacity and in general classroom tasks, with a daily rate of £100–£110 DOE.

You will help with early phonics and literacy, guided by the EYFS Lead, and contribute to the child’s language development through engaging activities while following specialist ASD training guidance.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with ASD, ideally in EYFS/SEND settings.
• Strong understanding of early phonics and reading development.
• Able to support early literacy activities and phonics taught by the class team.
• Calm, nurturing and proactive in a busy primary setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1-2-1 support for a Year 1 child with high needs and partial day attendance.
• Deliver targeted phonics and early literacy activities with engaging, play-based methods.
• Support phonics interventions planned by EYFS Lead and reinforce key sounds.
• Encourage communication development using visual supports and songs.
• Assist with transitions, sensory needs and daily routines as required.
• Collaborate closely with the class team to ensure consistent teaching approaches.
