Job summary

Cover People are recruiting for a Complex Needs SEND Teacher at a specialist secondary school in the Manchester area. Start September 2026, full-time, long-term with potential to go permanent. Hours Monday to Friday, 9-5 style; equal pay from 13th week. DBS required, references, and Right to Work in the UK.

The ideal candidate will have QTS/QT LS or equivalent, ability to plan differentiated lessons, and strong behaviour management. A proactive, team‑oriented approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Have QTS or QTLS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent.
• Be able to plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to pupils with complex needs.
• Demonstrate strong classroom & behaviour management skills, with a calm and nurturing approach.
• Have a passion for SEND teaching and a commitment to improving outcomes for pupils with complex needs.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons meeting the needs of pupils with complex needs.
• Assess and monitor pupil progress, contributing to EHCP outcomes and providing feedback.
• Promote an inclusive, nurturing classroom environment.
• Collaborate with Teaching Assistants, support staff, school leadership, therapists and other professionals.
• Support communication, emotional well-being, independence and academic development of pupils.
