Job summary

Cover People in Manchester are recruiting for a Complex Needs SEND Teacher to join a specialist secondary school in the Manchester area. The role starts September 2026, full-time, long-term with potential to go permanent.

You will plan and deliver differentiated lessons for pupils with complex needs, assess progress towards EHCP outcomes, and work with a supportive team of staff and therapists. A QTS/QTLS and a passion for SEND are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have QTS or QTLS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent.
• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons for pupils with complex needs.
• Demonstrate strong classroom & behaviour management skills.
• Passion for SEND teaching and commitment to improving outcomes.
• Be a team player with excellent communication and relationships.
• Be adaptable and proactive as part of a specialist team.

Cover People in Manchester are recruiting for a specialist secondary school in the Manchester area, who are seeking an enthusiastic & proactive Complex Needs SEND Teacher to start September 2026, full time & long term, with the potential to turn permanent after that.

The Basics:

Role: Complex Needs SEND Teacher at a specialist secondary school in the Manchester area

Start: September 2026.

Contract: Full-time, long-term. Could go permanent after that.

Hours: Monday to Friday, full time.

Pay: £(Apply online only)/day DOE paid PAYE direct via Cover People, we don t use umbrella companies!

Equal pay to perm staff in same role from 13th week of your placement onwards.

NB.Mainstream Teachers with experience supporting pupils with complex needs, autism or within specialist/SEND settings are welcome to apply.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

• Have QTS or QTLS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent.
• Be able to plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to pupils with complex needs.
• Demonstrate strong classroom & behaviour management skills, with a calm and nurturing approach.
• Have a passion for SEND teaching and a commitment to improving outcomes for pupils with complex needs.
• Be a team player with excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
• Be adaptable, proactive, and able to work effectively as part of a specialist team.

What We Need from You:

• An up-to-date CV including a full education and work history.
• Proof of Right to Work & Address in the UK.
• A valid DBS certificate on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
• At least 2 professional references.
• A proactive, enthusiastic and hard-working approach.

All pay rates include 12.07% statutory holiday pay where applicable.
