Job summary

Cover People in Manchester are recruiting for a Complex Needs SEND Teacher to join a specialist secondary school in the Manchester area. The role starts September 2026, full-time, long-term with potential to go permanent.

You will plan and deliver differentiated lessons for pupils with complex needs, assess progress towards EHCP outcomes, and work with a supportive team of staff and therapists. A QTS/QTLS and a passion for SEND are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have QTS or QTLS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent.
• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons for pupils with complex needs.
• Demonstrate strong classroom & behaviour management skills.
• Passion for SEND teaching and commitment to improving outcomes.
• Be a team player with excellent communication and relationships.
• Be adaptable and proactive as part of a specialist team.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons for pupils with complex needs.
• Assess and monitor pupil progress, contributing to EHCP outcomes.
• Promote an inclusive, nurturing classroom environment.
• Work with Teaching Assistants, staff, leaders, therapists and other professionals.
• Support communication, emotional well-being, independence and academic development.
• Manage classroom behaviour with positive strategies to create a safe learning environment.
• Participate in staff meetings, events, training and professional development.
