Employment Solicitor / Legal Executive – Hybrid Working

A leading regional law firm is seeking an experienced Employment Solicitor or Legal Executive to join their supportive and well established employment team in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire. This is an exciting opportunity for a legal professional who wants to manage a diverse caseload, contribute to the growth of the employment practice overall, and play a key role in shaping the future of the department.

The Opportunity

You will lead your own employment caseload, handling both contentious and non-contentious (claimant and respondent) matters. You will also support the wider team by sharing knowledge, mentoring junior colleagues, and contributing to strategic initiatives to enhance the department’s employment law offering. With hybrid working available, this role offers you the flexibility to balance office and home-based productivity, all within a supportive environment that encourages career progression.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a personal employment caseload both claimant and respondent, contentious and non-contentious matters.
  • Provide practical, commercially minded advice to clients and maintain strong relationships.
  • Support the growth and development of the employment team.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the business to deliver an exceptional client experience.
  • Contribute to business development initiatives and help raise the profile of the employment team.
Candidate Profile
  • Qualified solicitor or equivalent with at least 5 years’ post‑qualification experience in employment law.
  • Commercially aware with the ability to develop and sustain a client base.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to build consensus and handle sensitive issues diplomatically.
  • Organised, practical, and calm under pressure, able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Comfortable with technology, including case management systems, Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Motivated by career growth and by contributing to a collaborative, high‑performing team.
