Hays is working with a well-renowned organization in Telford, seeking an Employee Relations Specialist on a temporary basis. They are looking for a dynamic and experienced People Relations Specialist to join their team. This role is pivotal in supporting the People Relations activities within the business. You will use data-driven insights to continuously improve and upskill line managers in all Employee Relations (ER) matters.

Your new role
  • Lead, mentor, and develop Site Management Teams in people relations.
  • Efficiently triage and prioritize line manager queries and issues.
  • Maintain positive relationships with regional Trade Union (TU) teams.
  • Provide input to the policy review process, highlighting areas for change and development.
  • Collaborate with the wider HR team to meet business needs in day-to-day case management and proactive actions.
  • Manage employment tribunal and employment-related court claims, minimizing financial and reputational impact.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders to support all ER&P activities and requirements.
  • Develop and deliver continuous training programs to upskill line managers in industrial and people relations matters.
  • Report on people relations matters and metrics for various stakeholders.
  • Support major business changes, such as TUPE transfers.
What you'll need to succeed
  • Graduate, CIPD qualified or equivalent.
  • Experience in disciplinary, grievance, and TU issues.
  • HR project management and change management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of ER/IR/TU arena and HR best practices.
  • Business and commercial acumen.
  • Ability to influence, be creative, and challenge norms.
  • Coaching mindset and continuous improvement focus.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, matrix environment with senior stakeholders.
  • Negotiation skills for TU negotiations and termination agreements.
  • Project management skills.
