Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to support nuclear infrastructure design in the UK. Based in Glasgow or London, you will work within multidisciplinary teams on nuclear new-build, plant improvement and infrastructure modification projects.

The role focuses on practical engineering of mechanical systems, piping, utilities, cooling and plant services, with office-based work and occasional travel to project sites. Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK.

Qualifications

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering or another relevant engineering discipline.
• Chartered Engineer status, or progress towards professional registration with a UK engineering institution.
• Must have the legal right to work within the UK.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical systems and infrastructure for nuclear facilities.
• Develop modifications, upgrades and plant improvements.
• Produce calculations, specifications and design documentation.
• Coordinate interfaces between disciplines.
• Collaborate with clients, project managers, designers and suppliers.
• Ensure designs meet technical, safety, quality and regulatory requirements.
• Manage engineering activities per budgets and schedules.
• Provide guidance and mentoring to junior engineers.
• Contribute to design reviews and continuous improvement.
• Support site surveys and client meetings when required.
