Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Mechanical Engineer based in London or Glasgow to design mechanical systems for nuclear power facilities and support infrastructure. You will work within multidisciplinary teams, coordinating interfaces across engineering disciplines and producing the core design deliverables with emphasis on safety, quality and regulatory compliance.

The role involves office-based engineering work with occasional travel to project sites and client locations.

Qualifications

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering or another relevant engineering discipline.
• Chartered Engineer status, or progress towards professional registration with an appropriate UK engineering institution.
• Must have the legal right to work within the country you are applying for (UK).

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical systems and associated infrastructure for new and existing nuclear power facilities.
• Coordinate interfaces between mechanical, civil, structural, electrical, instrumentation and control engineering disciplines.
• Produce calculations, specifications, technical reports, equipment schedules and design documentation.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced engineers.
• Contribute to design reviews, technical assurance activities and continuous improvement.
