Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking an accomplished Mechanical Engineer to design and integrate mechanical systems for nuclear facilities. You will work on new-build, plant improvements and infrastructure projects, basing in Glasgow or London with some travel to sites and client meetings.

The role requires 5+ years in mechanical engineering, familiarity with nuclear safety standards, and the ability to lead engineering activities while mentoring others.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of mechanical design/engineering experience in plant environments.
• Experience with design for nuclear or safety-critical facilities preferred.
• Familiarity with design documentation, specifications and procurement packages.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical systems and infrastructure for nuclear facilities and upgrades.
• Develop engineering solutions for plant improvements and modifications.
• Produce calculations, specifications, reports and equipment schedules.
• Coordinate interfaces across mechanical, civil, structural, electrical, I&C disciplines.
• Collaborate with clients, project managers, designers and suppliers.
• Ensure designs meet technical, safety, quality and regulatory requirements.
• Manage engineering activities within budgets and schedules.
