A local health care provider in Stockport is seeking a part-time Receptionist to provide reception services for the Emergency Department. The ideal candidate will communicate effectively with both clinical and non-clinical staff, manage patient queries, and participate in a rota including nights and weekends. Successful applicants will require a DBS check and should have strong communication skills and NHS experience. This is a permanent position offering competitive benefits including annual leave and pension schemes.
To provide a general reception service to all personnel who access the Emergency Department and Clinical Decisions Unit. This includes contact with the general public as well as a wide range of other health care professionals. The post holder will be required to use a designated computer system to enter patient data, combined with general office and clerical duties.
To answer all telephone queries relating to patient's attendance and general advice, re‑directing to the appropriate source where necessary.

To alert the triage nurse of any potentially unwell patients you may have booked into the department.
The post holder will be required to participate in the department's rota system, which includes nights, weekends and bank holidays. The role requires rotation through the various departments within the Emergency Department such as ED main Reception, RAU ambulance desk, Clinical Decisions Unit and potentially Paediatrics.

If successful this vacancy will require a Standard DBS check at a cost of £26.90. This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salary. It will also be a condition of employment that you will join the DBS update service and pay the annual subscription fee of £16.
