Job summary

The Kitchen Porter role at Soho House supports a busy kitchen by cleaning pots, pans, dishes, utensils and glassware to the highest hygiene standards.

You will operate dishwashing equipment, maintain tidy workspaces, and help stock and sanitation routines. The position requires reliability, flexibility, and the ability to work calmly in a fast-paced environment, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Wash, rinse, and sanitise all kitchen items including pots, pans, dishes, utensils, and glassware in line with daily operational needs.
• Operate commercial dishwashing and cleaning equipment in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and safety protocols.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen workspaces and storage areas.
• Dispose of kitchen waste appropriately, ensuring bins are emptied and areas are kept clean and tidy throughout the shift.
• Adhere to all Food Safety and Health & Safety policies and practices in line with UK regulations (including HACCP).
• Follow detailed cleaning schedules and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Support the kitchen team by replenishing stock, reporting low supplies, and assisting where required during peak service times.
• Handle kitchen equipment and items carefully to minimise breakages and maintain inventory integrity.
• Replenish supplies such as toiletries, towels, and cleaning materials where required.
• Safely handle and store cleaning chemicals and equipment.
