Job summary

A leading recruitment firm is seeking an Electrically biased Maintenance Engineer in Gayton. In this role, you will perform planned and breakdown maintenance of high-speed production machinery, troubleshoot electrical & mechanical faults, and participate in continuous improvement projects. Candidates should have NVQ Level 3 in engineering or maintenance and strong problem-solving skills. Benefits include a competitive salary of £40,000 - £45,000, pension matching, and gym membership.

Role & Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned preventative, predictive and breakdown maintenance of all high-speed production machinery
  • Electrical & mechanical fault finding, problem solving and repairs
  • PLC electrical fault finding
  • Continuous improvement projects
  • Dealing with motors, servo drives, contactors, pneumatics, gearboxes, bearings, shafts, inverters
  • Management of stores, ordering of spares & parts when needed
  • Upkeep and alteration of electrical & mechanical drawings
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
  • NVQ Level 3 engineering or maintenance
  • Strong electrical & mechanical problem solving skills
  • Knowledge of PLCs
  • Control panels – electrical fault finding
  • Able to read and follow electrical schematic drawings
  • Continuous improvement mentality
  • Willingness to help in all areas of the team
  • Experience with motors, inverters, VSDs, sensors, switches, pneumatics, gearboxes
