Job summary

Scolmore Group is seeking a Technical Support Engineer to provide expert technical assistance across the product portfolio from our Tamworth office. You will resolve complex queries, interpret electrical drawings, and support quotation activities while maintaining high levels of customer service.

The role is office-based at Scolmore House, Tamworth, 8:30am–5:00pm, with occasional site visits. GCSE Maths & English or equivalent experience is required.

Qualifications

• Strong electrical knowledge including wiring, installation practices and electrical systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Professional, customer-focused approach with service excellence.
• Ability to work as part of a team and also independently.
• Structured and well-organised with good prioritisation.
• Confident using Microsoft Office and standard workplace systems.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to customer enquiries by telephone and email.
• Provide clear guidance on Scolmore Group products to customers and sales teams.
• Investigate and resolve technical issues through research and troubleshooting.
• Interpret drawings and electrical schedules to produce distribution board drawings in Illustrator.
• Log technical support cases with consistent records for reporting.
• Maintain technical data, drawings, and compliance documents across products.
• Collaborate with sales and Technical teams to address customer issues.
• Attend customer sites to investigate on-site technical issues when required.
