Job summary

Thames Water in Hatfield's Mill Green site is seeking an Electrical and Mechanical Technician to join a multi-disciplinary team responsible for frontline maintenance on sewage pumping stations across Hertfordshire.

The role requires a time-served apprenticeship or NVQ/C&G Level 3 in mechanical/electrical engineering, a full UK driving licence, and a proactive, safety-focused mindset. Base salary up to £45,000 with standby overtime and a generous benefits package.

Qualifications

• Time-served apprentice with significant experience in mechanical/electrical systems.
• NVQ or C&G Level 3 in mechanical/electrical engineering.
• Strong problem-solving and fault-diagnosis abilities.
• Excellent communication with internal and external staff.

Responsibilities

• Investigate plant failures and perform repairs quickly to avoid process interruptions.
• Install, modify, and commission new plant equipment and diagnose faults.
• Provide technical advice and training/support for technical trainees.
• Work on motors, gearboxes, pumps, conveyors, control gear and VSDs.
• Always work safely and follow Health and Safety guidelines.
