Job summary

Thames Water in Hatfield is seeking a Mechanical Technician to maintain plant equipment and ensure safe, efficient operation. You will carry out proactive and reactive maintenance across motors, gearboxes, conveyors, pumps and control gear, reporting faults and carrying out repairs where needed.

Qualifications

• ONC/HNC engineering qualification is crucial.
• Knowledge and awareness of health and safety issues are crucial.
• The work requires physical fitness and training for confined spaces.
• A valid driving licence is essential; vehicle and tools are provided.

Responsibilities

• Investigate plant failures and perform repairs quickly to avoid process interruptions.
• Provide technical advice and training/support for technical trainees.
• Work on motors, gearboxes, conveyors, pumps and related control gear.
• Complete statutory checks as required.
• Adhere to Health and Safety guidance and procedures.
