Job summary

Thames Water is seeking an Electrical and Mechanical Technician to join the Mill Green team in Hatfield. You will perform front-line maintenance on sewage pumping stations across Hertfordshire, focusing on electrical systems while supporting mechanical work as needed.

The role requires a time-served apprenticeship or NVQ/C&G Level 3 in mechanical/electrical engineering, with strong problem-solving, communication, and IT skills, plus a full UK driving licence. A company van and tools are provided.

Qualifications

• Time-served apprenticeship with significant experience in mechanical and electrical systems.
• NVQ or C&G Level 3 in mechanical/electrical engineering.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills for internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and adapt to changing environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform front-line maintenance/operational activities on sewage pumping stations.
• Investigate plant faults, diagnose issues, and carry out repairs.
• Install, modify, commission new plant equipment and tune control gear.
• Ensure safety compliance with Health and Safety procedures and company policies.
