Job summary

Thames Water is seeking an Electrical and Mechanical Technician for the Mill Green (Hatfield) team. The role focuses on electrical maintenance across sewage pumping stations in Hertfordshire, working in multi-disciplinary teams to maintain mechanical and electrical plant.

Responsibilities include fault diagnosis, installation and commissioning of new equipment, and providing technical guidance to staff. Excellent communication and safe working practices are essential for this rewarding role.

Qualifications

• Time-served apprenticeship or NVQ/C&G level 3 in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• Experience in mechanical/electrical systems within industrial environments.
• Knowledge of health and safety standards relevant to the industry.

Responsibilities

• Investigate plant failures and perform repairs quickly to avoid process interruptions.
• Install, modify, commission new equipment and diagnose faults in systems and plants.
• Provide technical advice and training support for trainees if required.
• Work safely, complying with health and safety guidance and procedures.
