Job summary
Thames Water’s Hatfield-based Sewage pumping team seeks an Instrumentation, Control and Automation Technician to support 270 pumping stations across Hatfield and surrounding areas. You’ll work on pumps, automation equipment, PLCs, and variable speed drives, investigating faults and performing planned maintenance to improve plant resilience.
The role offers training and progression, a company van, fuel card, and 38-hour week with overtime opportunities.
Qualifications
- Ideally qualified to HNC level or NVQ3 in instrumentation, control and automation.
- 18th Edition (BS7671) qualification preferred.
- Solid understanding of plant and control systems.
Responsibilities
- Investigate and diagnose faults on instrumentation, control and automation equipment; carry out repairs quickly.
- Carry out scheduled maintenance on instrumentation, control and automation equipment per standards.
- Work on pumps, actuated valves, penstocks, flow, level and pressure measurement, PLCs and VSDs.
