Job summary

Thames Water is recruiting a Mechanical & Electrical Technician for Didcot STW. You will inspect, maintain, fault diagnose, test, install, modify and repair mechanical and electrical plant to keep site operations running safely and efficiently.

You will work on pumps, 3‑phase motors, starts and controls, VSDs and PLCs, with sensors for flow, level and pressure, plus chemical handling and dosing equipment. A standby rota follows training.

Qualifications

• Time-served apprentice with significant experience in electrical systems in a multi-skilled capacity.
• Upskilled with a mechanical qualification to inspect, maintain, fault diagnose, test, install, modify or repair mechanical and electrical plant equipment safely.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out scheduled planned maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Investigate plant failures and perform rapid repairs to avoid process interruptions.
• Provide technical advice and training/support to trainees when required.
• Work on pumps, three-phase motors, starters, controls, VSDs, PLCs and related systems.
• Participate in standby rota after required training.
