Job summary

Pertemps Thames Water is seeking a Mechanical Technician for Mill Green STW in Hatfield. You will ensure all waste treatment equipment runs safely and efficiently, using proactive and reactive maintenance to prevent downtime. The role includes shift coverage to sustain 24/7 operations.

The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, fault-finding skills, and a valid driving licence. Training, equipment, and a company van are provided as part of the role.

Qualifications

• ONC/HNC or equivalent in mechanical engineering is required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and fault-finding skills.
• Health and safety awareness is essential.
• Valid driving licence is essential.

Responsibilities

• Investigate plant failures and perform repairs quickly to avoid process interruptions.
• Diagnose complex faults and provide swift repairs during incidents.
• Provide technical advice and training support for technical trainees if required.
• Complete statutory checks and maintain safe operations at Mill Green STW.
• Work with maintenance to manage planned preventative maintenance schedules.
