Job summary

Thames Water is seeking an Electrical and Mechanical Technician to join the Mill Green (Hatfield) team. You will focus on electrical maintenance and carry out front-line maintenance on sewage pumping stations across Hertfordshire, working in multi-disciplinary teams.

The role requires a time-served apprenticeship or NVQ/C&G Level 3 in mechanical/electrical engineering, strong fault-finding skills, IT literacy, a full UK driving licence, and a proactive, safety-focused approach.

Qualifications

• Time-served apprenticeship with significant mechanical/electrical experience or NVQ/C&G Level 3 in mechanical/electrical engineering.
• Strong fault diagnosis and repair skills for plant equipment.
• Good communication with internal teams and contractors.
• IT literate with a full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Investigate plant failures and perform repairs to avoid process interruptions.
• Install, modify, and commission new plant equipment and diagnose faults.
• Provide technical advice and training support as required.
• Work on motors, gearboxes, pumps, conveyors, and control gear in a safe manner.
• Operate within multi-disciplinary teams and follow health and safety guidance.
