Job description

Opportunity to join a multi-site manufacturing business in the food industry, offering career development opportunities, potential overtime, and a fantastic pension scheme. We're looking for an Electrical Engineer to join the maintenance team at a high-volume industrial site in Doncaster, working a 4 on / 4 off (2 days / 2 nights) shift pattern.

About the Role

As a Shift Electrical Engineer, you'll be responsible for the maintenance, support, and installation of equipment and machinery in an industrial environment. This is a hands-on role where you'll work closely with the wider engineering team to ensure production runs safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out electrical installation, maintenance, and fault-finding on plant and machinery as the Electrical Engineer on shift.
  • Support mechanical teams and liaise with operations to minimise downtime as a proactive Electrical Engineer.
  • Maintain accurate logs, job sheets, and documentation for all electrical engineering activities.
  • Ensure all work is carried out safely, including risk assessments and compliance with HSE standards.
  • Assist in projects, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives as a Shift Electrical Engineer.
About You
  • Fully qualified, apprentice-trained Electrical Engineer.
  • Extensive electrical experience in process, manufacturing, or industrial environments (e.g., food production, chemical processing, waste management, steel).
  • Strong knowledge of PLCs, inverter drives, and industrial electrical systems.
  • Proactive, continuous improvement-focused mindset.
  • Able to work under pressure and prioritise workload to meet deadlines.
