Position Summary

Job Title: Electrical Installation Lecturer (4 Days per Week)
Location: County Durham
Contract: Temporary, Immediate Start – 18 December
Hours: 4 days per week (0.8 FTE)
Start Date: As soon as possible

Overview

I am seeking an experienced and motivated Electrical Installation Lecturer to join a teaching team on a temporary basis, delivering high-quality teaching and learning to Level 3 learners. This role involves delivering both practical and theoretical content in Electrical Installation, along with relevant Health and Safety units. The successful candidate will be passionate about developing learners' skills, ensuring excellent outcomes, and supporting students to progress into the electrical industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging, high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment in Level 3 Electrical Installation and Health and Safety.
  • Prepare lesson plans, learning materials, assignments, and assessments in line with curriculum requirements.
  • Support learners' development through constructive feedback, tutorial support, and structured progression guidance.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and achievement.
  • Ensure compliance with awarding body standards and internal quality assurance processes.
  • Provide a safe learning environment and promote best practices in health and safety at all times.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement within the department.
  • Participate in team meetings, standardisation sessions, and quality assurance activities as required.
Essential Criteria
  • Recognised qualification in Electrical Installation (e.g., Level 3 NVQ, Level 3 Diploma, or equivalent).
  • Teaching qualification (PGCE, CertEd, DTLLS/CTLLS).
  • Proven experience teaching or assessing Level 3 Electrical Installation.
  • Strong knowledge of Health and Safety within the electrical industry.
  • Up-to-date industry knowledge, including familiarity with current regulations (e.g., 18th Edition).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate learners.
