Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Abingdon seeks an experienced Electrician to join their on-site team. Your role will involve executing planned and reactive maintenance tasks for electrical systems, ensuring safety and compliance. The ideal candidate must have City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical Installation, strong problem-solving skills, and at least 3 years of relevant experience. What you will be doing

As a key member of the on‑site engineering team, you'll take ownership of planned and reactive electrical maintenance tasks to ensure the ongoing safety, compliance, and operational efficiency of building systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned preventive maintenance and electrical fault‑finding on building services systems.
  • Perform electrical installations and periodic testing, including 5‑year fixed wire inspections.
  • Complete all certification and documentation in line with Dalkia and client standards.
  • Respond effectively to helpdesk requests and reactive maintenance issues.
  • Maintain accurate records through the CAFM system.
  • Support Health & Safety compliance across all engineering activities.
  • Work collaboratively with subcontractors, site teams, and Dalkia colleagues to meet service‑level expectations.
The ideal candidate:
Essential:
  • City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical Installation (2330/2360 or equivalent)
  • City & Guilds 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671)
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in commercial/industrial facilities maintenance
  • Strong understanding of health & safety and electrical standards
  • Excellent fault diagnosis and problem‑solving abilities
  • Clear communication skills and a customer‑focused approach
  • AM2 Qualification/Gold card
Desirable:
  • City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing or equivalent
  • ECS/CSCS Card
  • IPAF 3A & 3B (advantageous)
