Electrical Design Engineer

Graduate or qualified time served Electrical Design Engineer with previous experience of electrical design for machinery, special purpose equipment or automation.

The Role
  • Produce electrical designs and schematics for special purpose machines and equipment using AutoCAD Electrical
  • Ensure electrical designs are compliant with and conform to, all relevant company and industry standards
  • Preparation of BOMs
  • Technical coordination with colleagues, customers and suppliers
  • Technical support for workshop engineers during system building phase
  • Constructive input to project meetings to ensure customer satisfaction, machine specification, delivery dates and costings achieved
  • Obtain cost effective supplier quotations
  • Maintain design related records, complying with procedures
  • Contribute to department planning
  • Respond to the direction of the technical lead, operations manager, other management and the health & safety committee
The Person
  • Knowledge and understanding of bespoke/special purpose automation
  • Knowledge of motion control, fieldbus,safety systems,PLCs, HMIs etc
  • Compliant to 18th Edition
  • Skills in AutoCAD Electrical or similar
  • Skills in Office Suite including Word, Excel, Project
  • Ability to work under time pressures in line with quotation deadlines
  • Enthusiastic and highly motivated

Located in Leicestershire, this role would be commutable from Lutterworth, Corby, Market Harborough, Oadby, South Leicester, Hinckley and Kettering.
