Job summary

East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust seeks an Elective Outpatient Booking Manager to lead the appointments team within the Medical and Urgent Suspected Cancer pathway. You will supervise the bookings office, oversee rostering and performance, and work to national targets.

The role requires excellent communication, organisation, and an understanding of NHS processes; experience in outpatients and cancer pathways is highly valued.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above.
• NVQ3 admin or proven equivalent experience.
• Evidence of NVQ4-level development covering HR policy, outpatient management and staff supervision.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Elective Booking Manager by overseeing the Appointments officer, rostering, leave and performance.
• Demonstrate pro-activity and excellent communication; understand national performance targets.
• Ensure bookings comply with Trust and national policies and that documentation is complete.
• Experience in an NHS environment is desirable.
