Job summary

A recognized language education provider in the UK is seeking an EFL Teacher to deliver engaging English lessons at residential language centres. Ideal candidates will have experience working with children/teenagers, hold a relevant degree, and possess a CELTA or equivalent. This role requires adaptability and a commitment to student welfare, ensuring a safe and enjoyable learning environment.

Qualifications

Overview

As an EFL Teacher with Oxford International Junior Programmes, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality English lessons at one of our residential language centres. Ensuring all lessons are enjoyable, creative and delivered to a high standard.

All candidates need to be over 18 years old, eligible to work in the UK and willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS Disclosure Check and/or an Overseas Police Check.

Must-Haves
  • Experience working with children/teenagers, ideally in a residential camp setting or similar.
  • A positive and flexible approach to work, along with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
  • A desire to work with students aged between 8-17.
  • The ability to demonstrate respect for equal opportunities and respect for race and diversity.
  • A bachelor’s degree and a CELTA, Trinity CertTESOL or equivalent
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
Duties
Academic duties

Ensure lessons are delivered to the highest standard by:

  • Preparing lessons and adapting existing materials to suit your students’ needs and abilities.
  • Delivering lessons with the aim of achieving the objectives of the syllabus and to the standards set out in your Teacher Handbook and/or the Oxford International Junior Programmes syllabus.
  • Encouraging student participation through a positive and enthusiastic approach to your work.
  • Managing student behaviour effectively to allow each learner to experience an academically fulfilling environment.
Administration Duties

Ensure the academic team works smoothly by:

  • Attending staff meetings, as and when necessary.
  • Remaining impartial and fair, following the assessment criteria provided.
  • Keeping administration up-to-date. These are to be completed in a professional and timely manner, as delegated by the Director of Studies: Registers, Record of Work and Reports
Student welfare

Ensure the student body is safe and happy in our care by:

  • Maintaining proper levels of student discipline, safety and welfare.
  • Complying with Oxford International Junior Programmes’ Child Safeguarding policy at all times.
General

Further successfully perform your role by:

  • Responding to emergencies whenever necessary.
  • Maintaining suitable levels of student discipline, safety, and welfare.
  • Always encouraging students to use English.
  • Carrying out and/or consult risk assessments whenever required.
  • Attending the company’s staff training weekend (where applicable).
  • Attending all induction days prior to the students arriving.
  • Attending all staff briefings and take part in all necessary health and safety training.
  • Committing to be being a positive role model throughout your employment.
  • Carrying out all other reasonable tasks.
