Job summary

MDPI is seeking an Assistant Editor in Manchester to join our Editorial team. This entry-level, full-time, in-office role offers training and exposure to the scholarly publishing workflow, from submission to publication, alongside Managing Editors.

The role requires a PhD or Master’s in a Sensors-related field, strong English, and comfort with international collaboration. You will work on journals related to your field and grow within a global open-access publisher.

Qualifications

  • A PhD (preferred) or Master’s degree in a field related to Sensors.
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Team player with capability to work in an international environment.
  • Detail oriented with ability to see the big picture.

Responsibilities

  • Support the editorial process for academic journals in your domain of expertise.
  • Organize peer review and coordinate editorial decisions.
  • Handle email communication between parties in the publication process.
  • Collaborate with editorial and production teams.
  • Ensure articles are edited and published with tight deadlines and consistency.
