Job summary

MDPI is seeking an Assistant Editor for its Editorial team in Manchester, UK. This is an entry-level, full-time, in-office role based in the city centre, offering training and mentorship while engaging with researchers worldwide to publish their latest results.

You will support editorial processes, coordinate peer review, manage email communications, and work with production teams to ensure timely publication.

Qualifications

• PhD (preferred) or Master's degree in related field.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Team player with ability to work in a dynamic, international environment.
• Detail oriented with the capacity to see the big picture.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Very good communication and coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the editorial process for academic research journals in your domain of expertise.
• Organize peer review process for submitted manuscripts and coordinate editorial decisions.
• Handle email communication between the parties involved in the publication process.
• Collaborate with other members of the editorial and production teams.
• Ensure scholarly articles are edited and published to tight deadlines with high consistency.
