Job summary

MDPI is seeking an entry-level Assistant Editor to join its Editorial team in Manchester. The role involves supporting editorial workflows, coordinating peer review, and ensuring timely publication of high-quality scholarly articles.

No prior editorial experience is required, with full training provided. The position is full-time and based in our city centre Manchester office, next to Piccadilly Gardens, offering training under senior editors and opportunities for career progression in a

Qualifications

• PhD preferred or MSc in Healthcare-related fields such as Nursing, Clinical Medicine, Public Health, Health Policy, Psychology, Epidemiology, Nutrition, Rehabilitation Medicine, Pharmacology or Biomedicine.
• Excellent written and spoken English skills are required.
• Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to work in a dynamic, international environment and collaborate with editorial teams.

Responsibilities

• Support editorial processes for academic journals within your domain of expertise.
• Organize peer review process for manuscripts and coordinate editorial decisions.
• Handle email communications between authors, reviewers and editors involved in publication.
• Collaborate with editorial and production teams to ensure smooth workflows.
• Ensure articles are edited and published to high quality and on tight deadlines.
