Job summary

A leading education recruitment agency seeks a Full-Time Early Years SEN Teaching Assistant in Smethwick to support children with special educational needs. Responsibilities include providing individual and group support, contributing to Individual Education Plans, and maintaining a nurturing environment. Ideal candidates will have experience in Early Years settings and confidence in communication. This role requires a proactive, caring approach and DBS registration.

Position

Full-Time Early Years SEN Teaching Assistant – Smethwick (B66) – Monday to Friday 8:30am – 3:30pm.

Pay: £89 per day / £13.86 per hour – starting December 2025.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide targeted one‑on‑one and small group support for Early Years pupils with SEN.
  • Assist with children’s learning, social skills and emotional well‑being.
  • Contribute to and follow Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Work in partnership with teachers, SENCOs and other school staff.
  • Help maintain a nurturing, inclusive and stimulating Early Years environment.
Requirements
  • Experience in a nursery or Early Years setting is strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience supporting SEN children or vulnerable individuals is essential.
  • Must be available for a full‑time role only.
  • A caring, adaptable and proactive approach to supporting young learners.
  • Confident communication and interpersonal skills.
  • DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
