A local preschool in Luton seeks a Nursery Nurse/Early Years Practitioner. The position requires a Level 3 Childcare qualification or above and involves providing high-quality care and education to children while maintaining a stimulated learning environment. Position: Nursery Nurse/Early Years Practitioner Level 3 Childcare or above
Location: Luton
Hours: 37.5 hours Weekly
Timings: Monday - Friday 8:30am-4:00pm
DBS requirement: Appointment for this post requires an up to date enhanced DBS check against a barred list for children and adults.

To comply with the statutory framework for the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage 2025).
To be a key person to a group of children working as part of a team under the direction of the Manager/Deputy Manager. Providing high standards of care and education for children in the preschool through stimulating activities. To promote the welfare and safety of children at all times in line with set policy and procedures.
To plan and deliver the curriculum for children with a focus on learning and development for children's next steps.
Contribute to the recording and assessment of children's progress through observations maintaining accurate records of learning and development.
To complete paperwork such as two year old progress check sheets and working alongside other professionals to support children with special educational needs (SEN).
To promote an inclusive practise by adapting activities for children with special educational needs.
To conduct parent consultations, working in partnership with families feeding back on children's progress, learning and development.
To be able to communicate fluently and have good communication and language skills in Urdu and Punjabi.
To teach children, offering an appropriate level of support and stimulation through activities both inside and outside the nursery.
Building relationships with parents/carers/guardians to support children's current interests and knowledge ensuring each child's needs are planned for and met.
To ensure the safeguarding of children at all times and have an understanding of child protection and how to keep children safe.
To inform Safeguarding Lead of any safeguarding concerns ensuring confidentiality is maintained at all time.
Undertake a shared responsibility for health and safety and carry out risk assessments both outdoor and in the nursery.
To support children during snack and lunch times.
To support in toileting children and follow nappy changing procedures.
To undertake light duties daily with regards to the cleanliness and maintenance of the preschool.
To attend staff meetings and in house training in line with job role and continued professional development.
