Telent's Network Services division is looking for a Cloud Engineer to join our Engineering team based in Southampton. This role offers the chance to work with a talented team of Cloud, Network, and Security specialists, supporting your growth and development with exposure to challenging projects.

The Cloud Engineer will build and enhance relationships with internal and external customers, providing proactive service and acting as a bridge between engineering and Service Delivery, Projects, and Service Desk to ensure high customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities of the Cloud Engineer include:

  • Training internal staff and customers on products and solutions.
  • Supporting Professional Services and Sales within Network Services.
  • Monitoring customer incidents and reporting on accounts.
  • Identifying trends, security threats, or technical bulletins affecting customers.
  • Managing documentation related to customer platforms and Telent Cloud Services.
  • Adhering to processes on task allocation, reporting, and change management.
  • Assisting with PoC scenarios, Type Approval activities, and lab testing.
  • Creating and reviewing technical documentation and Statements of Work.
  • Pre-staging equipment for customer sites as needed.
  • Participating in customer meetings and reviews.
  • Submitting accurate timesheets and expenses.
  • Linking certifications to business objectives and maintaining relevant skills.
  • Following GDPR and security policies.

Ideal candidate profile:

The successful candidate will have an interest in Cloud technologies, including some Azure knowledge, Linux, MS SCCM, and MS Exchange. Experience in a medium to large support environment and on-premise Cloud Services is preferred. Certifications like VCP, MCSA, or LPIC-2 are desirable but not essential. Strong work ethic, collaborative skills, and excellent communication are essential.
