Telent's Network Services division is seeking a Cloud Engineer to join our successful Engineering team based in Southampton. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work with a talented team of Cloud, Network, and Security specialists, supporting your growth and development as a Cloud Engineer through challenging projects.

The Cloud Engineer will develop and strengthen relationships with both internal and external customers, providing proactive service and acting as a bridge between the engineering team and Service Delivery, Projects, and Service Desk to ensure high customer satisfaction.

Cloud Engineer - Responsibilities:

  • Train internal engineering staff and customers on products and solutions.
  • Assist with Professional Services and Sales opportunities within Network Services.
  • Monitor customer incidents and report on nominated accounts.
  • Highlight trends, security threats, or technical bulletins impacting customers.
  • Manage documentation and technical information related to customer platforms and Telent Cloud Services (TCS).
  • Follow internal and external processes regarding task allocation, completion, reporting, and change management.
  • Assist with Proof of Concept (PoC), Type Approval activities, and lab testing.
  • Create TA, POC, RFC, WI, and SoW documentation.
  • Perform peer reviews of technical documentation.
  • Lead in pre-staging equipment for customer sites as part of projects or installations.
  • Participate in customer meetings such as support reviews, project roadmaps, and incident reviews.
  • Accurately submit timesheets weekly with appropriate booking codes.
  • Ensure certifications and training align with business objectives.
  • Complete overtime and expenses accurately and timely.
  • Adhere to GDPR and security policies regarding sensitive data and information handling.

Who you are:

The ideal Cloud Engineer will have an interest in Cloud technologies, including some Azure cloud knowledge, Linux exposure, MS SCCM, and MS Exchange. We will support your development in these areas. You should have a strong work ethic, a can-do attitude, and experience working in a medium to large support environment (IT Managed Service). On-premise Cloud Services experience is also desirable.

  • VCP 6.x-DCV (Desirable)
  • MCSA: Microsoft Windows Server 2016 or above
  • Networking Concepts knowledge
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2016 or above, especially clustering and availability groups
  • Azure MFA and Identity Services
  • Microsoft System Configuration Manager
