Telent's Network Services division is seeking a Cloud Engineer to join our Engineering team based in Southampton. This role offers an opportunity to work with a skilled team of Cloud, Network, and Security specialists, supporting your growth and exposure to challenging projects.

The Cloud Engineer will foster relationships with internal and external customers, providing proactive service and ensuring high customer satisfaction by acting as a bridge between engineering and Service Delivery, Projects, and Service Desk teams.

Responsibilities of the Cloud Engineer include:
  • Training staff and customers on products and solutions.
  • Supporting Professional Services and Sales within Network Services.
  • Monitoring customer incidents and reporting on accounts.
  • Highlighting trends, security threats, or technical bulletins affecting customers.
  • Managing documentation related to customer platforms and Telent Cloud Services.
  • Adhering to processes about task management and documentation updates.
  • Assisting with PoC scenarios, Type Approval activities, and lab testing.
  • Creating and reviewing technical documentation and Statements of Work.
  • Pre-staging equipment for customer sites.
  • Participating in customer meetings and reviews.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely timesheet submissions.
  • Linking certifications to business objectives and maintaining compliance with GDPR and security policies.
Ideal Candidate Profile:

The successful candidate will have an interest in Cloud technologies, including some Azure knowledge, Linux, MS SCCM, and MS Exchange. They will possess a strong work ethic, a can-do attitude, and experience in medium to large support environments, with on-premise Cloud Services experience.

  • Certifications like MCSA, VCP, LPIC-2 (desirable)
  • Knowledge of Networking, SQL Server, Azure MFA, VMware vCloud Director
  • Leadership qualities and excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
