Job summary

Education Authority (Northern Ireland) is seeking a Classroom Assistant to support teachers and pupils in a designated class. You will help with learning activities, manage materials, and assist with supervision in and out of the classroom.

The role requires a Level 2 qualification or substantial experience in a learning environment, strong organisational skills, and the ability to work as part of a team while maintaining a child-centred approach.

Qualifications

• Hold a Level 2 (or equivalent) qualification in a relevant area from a recognised awarding body.
• Demonstrate health and safety awareness and safeguarding knowledge.
• Evidence of working in a formal learning environment or placement relevant to the role.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher in the efficient running of the class.
• Support pupils individually and in groups to meet learning goals.
• Maintain a safe, supportive learning environment and manage resources.
• Prepare materials and set up activities as directed by the teacher.
• Assist with administration such as records, displays, and organisation of space.
• Provide supervision and care including basic medicines as required.
• Attend relevant training and contribute to school procedures.
