Job summary

Lochgreen House Hotel & Spa in Ayrshire is seeking a Duty Manager to oversee hotel operations on shift, lead the team, and ensure an exceptional guest experience. You’ll be a key contact for guests and colleagues, guiding service standards and maintaining a welcoming environment.

You will coordinate across departments, support events, and ensure safety, cleanliness and smooth daily operations while upholding RAD Hotel Group’s commitment to quality and care.

Qualifications

• Previous supervisory or management experience within a hotel, hospitality or food and beverage environment.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for the smooth operation of the hotel during your shift.
• Lead and support the team across all departments, ensuring clear communication and high service standards.
• Act as a key guest contact, handling enquiries, requests and complaints professionally.
• Carry out regular checks to maintain standards of cleanliness, presentation, service and safety.
• Work with department managers to ensure the hotel operates efficiently.
• Support weddings, conferences, functions and other events, maintaining a high standard of guest experience.
• Handle cash and financial procedures accurately, including end-of-shift checks and reporting.
• Ensure compliance with hotel policies, licensing, health and safety and company standards.
• Respond quickly to operational issues and use initiative to resolve them.
• Support colleagues across departments during busy periods.
• Complete handovers and communicate key operational and guest information to management.
• Help maintain a positive, professional and welcoming environment for guests and colleagues.

We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Duty Manager to join the team at Lochgreen House Hotel & Spa. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the next chapter of this much-loved Ayrshire hotel, supporting the smooth running of the property and ensuring an exceptional experience for every guest. You’ll be a key point of contact for guests and colleagues, leading the team on shift, resolving issues and maintaining high standards across the hotel.

What We’re Looking For:

• Previous supervisory or management experience within a hotel, hospitality or food and beverage environment.
• Experience within conference and banqueting or events would be beneficial.
• A genuine passion for delivering exceptional guest service and creating positive experiences.
• Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and support a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to deal with guests, colleagues and management at all levels.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• The ability to remain calm under pressure, prioritise effectively and make confident decisions.
• A positive, professional and diplomatic approach.
• A hands-on attitude and willingness to support wherever needed.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends, evenings and holidays.
