Eligibility

This post is open to employees of the five LAASP organisations. By proceeding, you are confirming that you are a current employee of The Clatterbridge Centre, Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital, Liverpool University Hospitals, Liverpool Women’s Hospital or The Walton Centre.

We are recruiting a full‑time driver on a 37.5‑hour contract, Monday to Sunday, covering hours between 0600‑0600. These roles cover shifts for linen delivery, specimen delivery and pharmacy deliveries to patient homes.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Deliver medical supplies, equipment and medications to NHS sites and patient homes in a timely and secure manner.
  2. Perform daily vehicle checks (oil, fuel, tyre pressure, cleanliness, stock).
  3. Adhere to strict health and safety guidelines, including infection control procedures.
  4. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pick‑ups, mileage, and incidents.
  5. Assist patients with mobility issues during transport.
  6. Communicate effectively with healthcare staff and patients.
Additional Duties
  • Keep accurate personal records including timesheets.
  • Manage workload to maximise delivery efficiency.
  • Problem‑solve on‑site customer enquiries.
  • Maintain service standards and adhere to timed schedules while working unsupervised.
  • Plan day‑to‑day work tasks and supply delivery service as per scheduled journeys.
  • Document reports for each journey: vehicle log sheets, mileage, compliance with Transport Regulations.
  • Inspect vehicle upon use (fuel, oil, water, tyres, lights) and keep defect reports.
  • Ensure vehicle cleanliness to prevent contamination.
  • Safely load and unload goods following Health and Safety guidelines.
  • Coordinate distribution of case notes between sites, including emergency movements.
  • Ensure patient safety through consistent compliance with Trust policies and infection prevention.
  • Communicate with staff at various levels and establish good customer relationships.
  • Plan and prioritise workload and keep all relevant parties informed of changes.
