Job summary

Metro Rod Ltd. is seeking a Drainage Engineer to service customers across the West Yorkshire area. You will perform drainage cleaning, repairs and maintenance, using high-pressure water jetting equipment and CCTV surveying as needed. A full UK driving licence and a willingness to work on-call hours are essential.

You will join a growing team that values safety, customer service and technical expertise, with on-site work around Huddersfield and surrounding areas.

Qualifications

• Experience with high-pressure water jetting and CCTV surveying is beneficial but training is provided for the right candidate.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and effective communication with clients and colleagues.
• Willingness to work unsociable hours and be part of an on-call rota.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out drainage cleaning, clearance, repair and maintenance tasks for customers' drains.
• Operate High-Pressure Water Jetting Equipment following safety standards.
• Conduct surveys and record job details accurately using internal systems.
• Provide excellent customer service and technical guidance to clients.
• Be part of an on-call rota to service clients 24/7 across the year.

Drainage Engineer
Metro Rod & Metro Plumb West Yorkshire
Leeds, Bradford, Huddersfield, Halifax & Wakefield areas
Salary £14-£16 per hour DOE plus overtime & on-call
45 hours per week on-site + paid driving time

Within the Waste & Water Services Division of Franchise Brands, is also Willow Pumps and Filta. Two expanding businesses that focus on sewage pumps and commercial kitchen solutions. Together, the brands provide a complete one-stop shop for keeping water and waste flowing.

What does it entail?

• Carrying out a range of services associated with the cleaning, clearance, repair, and maintenance of our customers’ drains
• Operation of High-Pressure Water Jetting Equipment in line with rigorous safety standards
• Carrying out surveys
• Providing an exceptional standard of customer service and technical expertise
• Accurately recording work/job details via a range of bespoke internal/client systems and apps
• Communicate effectively with high profile commercial and domestic clients and Metro Rod Support Centre colleagues to ensure excellent customer service is always provided
• Being part of an on-call rota to help service our clients 24/7 / 365 days a year. This would be one week in four- variable according to the business needs

What are we looking for?

• High pressure water jetting and CCTV Surveying with experience in commercial drainage beneficial but not essential as full training provided for the right candidate
• Excellent problem-solving ability with sound technical knowledge
• Have a positive, flexible, can-do attitude
• Want to be part of a growing and progressive business
• Be willing to work some unsociable hours
• Full UK driving licence
• Must live in the West Yorkshire area
