Job summary

Sainsbury’s Group is seeking a Customer Delivery Driver to bring groceries straight to customers’ doorsteps with energy and care. You will drive a 3.5 tonne refrigerated van, perform vehicle checks and follow routes safely in diverse locations.

The role combines independent delivery with collaborative store teamwork and a strong customer-first approach. Ideal candidates are 18+, hold a valid UK/EU license, can lift up to 15kg, and can learn new delivery technology while upholding safety norms.

Qualifications

• You must be over 18 and have held a full UK/EU driving licence for at least 12 months with no more than 6 points
• You will complete an online driving risk assessment during interview and a driving assessment on joining
• You must have Right to Work eligibility in the UK
• Sainsbury's uses in-cab AI cameras to monitor driver behaviour and safety compliance
• You should be friendly, welcoming and take pride in doorstep delivery
• You should be comfortable driving a large vehicle in varied locations and weather
• You should be able to work independently and as part of the store team
• You should be willing to learn and take on new challenges

Responsibilities

• Be the face of Sainsbury's delivering to customers doorstep with a friendly, helpful service
• Drive a 3.5 tonne refrigerated van to deliver groceries on time and in good condition
• Carry out van checks for roadworthiness, cleanliness and secure customer shopping
• Follow planned routes and drive safely in varied locations and conditions
• Move containers up to 15kg and deliver to properties with potential steps or lifts
• Communicate clearly with customers about delays, queries and order changes, and support in-store tasks
