Overview

Enriching Lives is a branch of Domiciliary Care. Staff providing this Service are required to support individuals on a one to one basis focusing on enabling residents within our Village Settings to access the wider community and to pursuit activities of their choice. The successful applicant will be required to drive SMT Vehicles and also be happy to use their own vehicles, if necessary. All staff need to be on SMT Driver Database therefore, a clean Licence and business Insurance is essential. Applicants will need to be able to demonstrate a genuine interest and enthusiasm in supporting people to maximise their independence and achieve positive outcomes.

Hours: 20 hours per week

Hourly rate: £12.87 per hour

Responsibilities
  • Provide and deliver a comprehensive care and support service including all elements of personal care and hygiene, while maintaining independence and dignity at all times.
  • Ensure the social support of residents – encouraging and facilitating their interests and meaningful activities.
  • Assist where required in resident's health and well-being including nutrition, medication/creams, mobility, shopping/health appointments and supporting their visitors.
  • Formulate, review and maintain resident care plans and paperwork.
  • Work in line with regulatory bodies and SMT policies (e.g., GDPR, CQC, HSE, Local Authority expectations).
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders across and externally to St Monica Trust.
  • Undertake housekeeping and laundry duties as necessary for the resident.

Other Skills and Qualifications
  • Essential: Understanding the needs of older people, including dementia and complex care needs; ability to attend to personal care needs including helping with food, bathing, toileting; good IT skills (Microsoft packages); Care certificate or willingness to work towards Care Certificate.
  • Desirable: First Aid, food hygiene and Manual Handling.
