Job summary

Cutlers Hill Surgery is hiring a permanent dispenser to join the dispensary team. The role focuses on accurately processing GP-authorised prescriptions, checking medicines against scripts, and dispensing at the hatch. 25 hours per week across Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.

NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy/Dispensary Assistant and prior dispensing experience are essential. Proficiency with SystmOne, attention to detail, and excellent communication are required to

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 Pharmacy/Dispensary Assistant qualification.
• Previous dispensing experience in a pharmacy setting.
• Experience using SystmOne to order medicines and manage stock.

Responsibilities

• Process GP- and prescriber-authorised prescriptions in line with practice procedures.
• Check all medicines and appliances dispensed against the prescription.
• Refer medication, dosage or labelling queries to the authorising clinician or duty doctor.
• Issue medicines at the dispensary hatch and collect prescription charges where due.
• Ensure FP10 patient declarations are completed and signed correctly.
• Learn and use SystmOne to order medicines and keep stock levels.
• Assist with dispensary administration, including cash-up and prescription counting.
• Provide a professional, efficient and courteous service to patients with queries.

Job description

This permanent dispenser role sits in the dispensary team at Cutlers Hill Surgery.
