Job summary

Vivid Resourcing Ltd seeks a DFG Technical Officer in Great Yarmouth to support Disabled Facilities Grants. You will manage a caseload from enquiry to completion, visiting properties and preparing schedules of works.

Close collaboration with occupational therapists, contractors and applicants is essential to deliver adaptations on time and within budget. You will ensure compliance with DFG processes, maintain records, and contribute to service performance.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering Disabled Facilities Grants or similar housing adaptations.
• Understanding of DFG process and housing legislation.
• Ability to read and prepare technical drawings, specifications and schedules of works.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of DFG applications from initial referral to final completion.
• Carry out site visits to assess properties and agree adaptations with occupational therapists and applicants.
• Prepare technical drawings, schedules of works and specifications for adaptation projects.
• Obtain and evaluate contractor quotations and advise on value for money.
• Check eligibility, financial assessments and grant approvals per legislation and local policy.
• Monitor works on site, inspections, and ensure completed adaptations meet standards.
• Resolve technical issues, variations and complaints as they arise.
• Liaise with occupational therapists, social care teams, contractors, landlords and applicants.
• Maintain accurate case records and update housing management and grant systems.
• Support service performance, reporting and continuous improvement.
